Adult's biological meaning is a term used to describe an animal that is with the capacity to reproduce. The term "adult" is often employed in relation to human beings in order to define moral and social concepts. Legal adult means a person is at the point of adulthood and is considered to be an independent, self-sufficient person, and responsible. The term "major" is a term used to describe these individuals. The age for achieving legal adulthood is 18, but the definition can vary based on laws, countries and the level of development in psychological terms.

The period of human development that is when mental and physical maturity has been reached. Adulthood, as it is typically understood, is at the age of around 20 or 21. After middle age (starting about 40 years old) is the time to reach the age of old age (around the age of 60). Adulthood is divided into three stages: the early years of adulthood (18-mid-30s) between mid-30s and the mid-60s and the final stage of adulthood, mid-60s to the time of death. At the beginning stages of adulthood (between 20-40) then our bodies have reached their full maturity even though our weight and height might increase a bit. In the early years of our lives, we're physically and mentally at the peak. Strength of muscles, reaction time, sensory ability, and cardiac function all reach their peak.
