Aurora
Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval from bloggers as well as the press. Half the World Away - by Oasis is a cover for John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two of the most notable covers the artist has done. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry announced her new song Runaway. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano in her basement and being fascinated at the sound it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to pursue music for development of her own, not as a way of earning money or for to pursue an interest. Thus, she began with her own music. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love for Bjork's style. After her mother said that the songs she composed could be used to not gain fame for her however, but to encourage people to see their own value and impact in this world, she started performing them publicly. She started playing piano when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. Her family didn't hear about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora was not a goal. She says she just likes creating songs. The songs she creates are the way that she feels anything.
