Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name has been recognized for pioneering the study of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in the legal setting. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and has received many national and international distinctions. She has worked with a variety of government agencies and institutions all over the world to conduct research and policies relating to children who are people who are victims of the law. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of several professional associations, which include that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is the founder of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of the the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
