A person who is an adult can be described as a human or other animal that has reached complete growth.The biological meaning of the term refers to an animal reaching sexual maturity, and therefore capable of reproduction. The term "adult" is often used in the context of humans to mean the legal and social aspects. Contrary to the term "minor" (or "non-adult", a legal-age adult is an individual that has reached the age of an age at which they are majority. They are thought to be responsible, independent and capable. Sometimes referred to as "majors", they can also be considered as having reached the age of adulthood. The age of 18 is the legal adult age, but the definition of adulthood can vary depending on the country, rights of the law or the development of a person's psychological.

The age of adulthood marks the point in human life when an individual has reached maturation in both mental and physical development. Adulthood is commonly believed to start around the age of 20 or 21. The middle age begins at approximately 40 before being followed by an elderly age of 60. Adulthood is divided into three distinct stages The first is early adulthood (18-30 years), Middle Adulthood (30-60 year olds) and Late adulthood (60%-60%). As we enter early adulthood we have reached the fullest physical maturation. Yet, our height and our weight can increase. The physical abilities of our bodies are at their peak in young adulthood. It includes strength of muscles in addition to reflex time, the senses, and heart functioning.
